soon i'm piXXed off...

Hello,

I installed the german language pack, added utf8 to the info.php and created the language folders inside the cached folders. Another problem now occurs. The website loads, german is the language of the hour, but when i want to enter the admin zone, i get a 500 error. It would be nice if anyone could help me. I am new to ocportal, like the features (it's exactly what i looked for) and want to use it. Tried other bullsXXt over the years and abandoned it…
Have german 1&1 webspace, adjusted the php.ini and put them in the dirs as described in the FAQs…

errorlog.php:

Clear the caches using /upgrader.php. By putting utf8 into info.php you told it to change how the data is interpreted in the DB, so the code in there is no longer valid. But clearing the caches should flush all the sensitive code out.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
