I believe this happens when you do not use the "Add page wizard"; there is no place in the non-wizard interface to enter a title like there is in the wizard.

You need to add the title using either Comcode or 'h1'.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

You mean like this?

Code

[title]Gallery at a Glance[/title]

This is still not working although the other page fixed itself, perhaps because of being resaved after substantial changes. I just tried resaving this page and it had no effect.

However, when I used the website cleanup tools to clear both the "Comcode field pre-calculations" and "Comcode pages", the title of all pages was set to "unknown" and only updated up visiting the page in the front-end. So those "unknowns" just meant those pages hadn't been visited yet which makes sense because they were not validated.

Right, yes - that's it. The list of Comcode pages won't show correct titles until pages are visited, if there are more than a certain number of pages. Unlike other contents it's not as simple as doing a database query to find the titles so it is a performance safeguard.
