New OCP user here… Loving it BTW.

I have a couple of issues I would like to resolve. Is there a search option for the forums (OCF)? Or am I missing something? Also, when I go to the Collaboration Zone it shows no topics (which is correct, because one has not been added), but when I click add topic it kicks back an error (invalid resource forum#0…or something like that). I have not renamed the default forums…so how do I fix it?

Another minor issue: I went with a darker theme on my site (www.digitalorb.com) and some of the buttons appear to still have a white background (track topic and mark unread to name a couple) even though the image file on the serve has transparent backgrounds. Is OCP highlighting admin buttons or something?

Other than the above, I am very impressed with OCP. The Admin panel took a bit to get used to (coming from other portals/cms) but it's a breeze now. :)

EDIT: Boy do I feel like a noob! The forum search has been staring at me all along! So scratch that above. :$

Hi there,

Collaboration zone forum link…

This references a forum called "Super-members only" which doesn't exist yet. You can create that forum, or edit the start page of the collaboration zone to reference a different one. (I note that's not so obvious a thing to do.)

White issue…

Did you add:

Code

textarea, input {
background:#FFFFFF none repeat scroll 0 0;
}
to your CSS? I'm seeing this on your CSS but it doesn't seem to be standard. It's causing the problem, because those images you see are implemented as buttons (they perform instant actions so need to be, for standards compliancy).

Become a fan of ocPortal on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Twitter.
Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Ah! So just create the forum for collab. Doh! :)

As for the textarea input thing…yes I did change that when I was trying to get the wysiwyg editor background to stay white…which turned out to be me messing with the BODY tag. I thought I had changed that back, but I guess I missed it. Problem solved now…buttons look correct!

Thanks for the help Chris…and for an awesome portal!
