But yes the social media features will be improving drastically. The inbuilt Facebook and Twitter support is being removed, but the non-bundled addons are absorbing the functionality and being substantially rewritten to be much more powerful. These tie into a very cool new non-bundled addon called 'activities' which people are going to love. If I answered something that you think should be in the documentation, please take the initiative and add it to the community documentation. We really need people to help out here and build a well-organised large support resource. |

I have been purposely "digging" into the latest CMS options pretty heavy lately, hopefully to bring something to the table for OCP. I burn and churn about 2-10 CMS's during any given week staying on top of things and seeing what is new. They will, at times, give anyone a headache, but when it comes down to it, pound per pound, OCP takes the cake. Seriously it does. My OCP sites just sit out there and hum along. I might not get back to one for upwards of a couple months (fall between the cracks), but hit the Admin dashboard, dust off the controls, run some maintenance and punch in a few blogs and off I go. They are mostly satellite Google Adsense penny poppers, but out of all the CMS, ocPortal is by far the easiest and smoothest to just let run. Great job Chris and ocPortal dev members.

Me too. I had noticed the "Activities" commits and wasn't sure what there are since Chris didn't want to share much of a description with us. :p But I like where things seem to be headed. In some ways, I think that the revised v8 might actually turn out to be a better plan than the original v8. I think it may well prove to be a better plan in terms of garnering respect for ocPortal and I hope 2012 is the year of ocPortal. Bob |

I think you also need to deliver support for Google+ at some point - I don't believe this one is going away anytime soon. I actually find G+ my preferred platform even though it has a fraction of the membership of Facebook and Twitter. Bob |

Otherwise, I don't find it a particularly revolutionary service, although I certainly love the interface.

I've been fortunate enough to connect with a group of artists on G+ which has worked to my advantage in terms of making people aware of Julian Ritter's art. In some ways, I am disappointed that they did not learn from FB's fan page mistakes but it is still a better (more active) venue for me than FB. Bob |

I do hope that you add google+ to the social networking tools.

Any movement here, Chris? I'd love to be able to syndicate to G+ too (to either a profile a brand page of my choice). Bob |

Note the conspicuous absence of any of the words "put"/"set"/"save"/"store"/"create"/"make" If I answered something that you think should be in the documentation, please take the initiative and add it to the community documentation. We really need people to help out here and build a well-organised large support resource. |

Google clearly hasn't matched their social platform competition here. Bob |
