Where does ocPortal find these "broken URL's" that appear on the next screen after clearing the caches? Also, why does it say I have a million + one orphaned uploads? If that were true, I'd see a bulk-importing (via FTP) screen when bulk-importing images into a gallery. All items in my uploads folder appear to be registered in the system.

Sorry, I'd missed this one.

Orphaned uploads- if you're db_meta table is incomplete then ocPortal won't be able to detect that those fields that hold URLs actually hold URLs. It hence can't kind matching URLs for on-disk files, and will complain.

Broken URLs- the same holds true. However on my test install I did see a lot of broken URLs because I'd deleted theme folders, yet the theme still existed in the DB.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Not forgetting the "mailto:" links ...

Take my advice. I'm not using it!
