This is, i guess, the most basic question ever asked here... but HOW does a user change the theme? I neither found a place to do this as admin or user... and not an option in acp to allow it.. Can someonme tell me how to enable this?

If there are multiple themes a user has permission to, and at least one zone is set to allow a user to choose themes, it will be an option when they edit their profile.

As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Hmm, ok. So i need to have more than just the default theme and setting each zone to "Respect member settings" as Theme option, right?

I did this for personal zone yet i cant find the option in the profile settings :0/

And the usergroups definitely have access to more than one of these themes? (you can set access permissions on the theme edit screen)

Actually ignore my last post (I don't think that's it, I just checked the code and it doesn't work like that).

I noticed that the theme selector only shows if you have the ocf_forum addon still installed.

Also, I am assuming you are running OCF. If you're not, it gets a bit more complex.

OCF is running and usergroups shouldnt be a problem as i am running the administrator account atm anyway (also every group has view access).

So current situation:
Running OCP with the built in Forum (addon installed, running, working) having 3 Themes currently, all available to all users and all zones set to respect the user's settings..

Thanks for that patch, now everything works like a charm.

One question on the matter: Is it possible to assign logos created with the logo creator automatically to all logo/ sections in the corresponding theme?

Probably not. If there is no logo for a zone it will use the welcome zone's logo. You may just need to use the theme image editor to assign the logos of the other zones that have their own ones.
Alternatively you can change HEADER.tpl to reference {$IMG,logo/-logo} instead of {LOGO_URL}.

ok, thank you.
I asked because i saw that, for example, the Forum was assigned the standard template but other stuff (cms, welcome) got the newly created one.
I understood the logo creator to create logos to all zones, but seems this was wrong :0(

Anyway, thanks for the help!
