Thank you in advance for helping a Greenhorn. So far I like very much of what I see of OCP but a task that I thought was/should be trivial is changing the title or description of a block. I've looked through the tutorials, tried various editing menus etc and I can't find where to edit this text. For example the "Image of the day" block. If I wanted to change the text to "Antique of the day" or "Pet of the day" should be simple but I've not been able to find where that data/text is stored. And of course the same with titles/descriptions of other blocks?

Thank you,
Greenhorn

Well-settled

Hi,

This is done using language strings. In the footer there's an option in the dropdown there to change any language strings used on the current page.

Alternatively if you specifically want to change just the title of a block directly and not affect anything else, you'd need to edit the template referencing the language string. Again from the dropdown in the footer, you can find a Template tree option, and in there you will see a link to edit any of the templates used. The template for the IOTD block has an obvious name so should jump out fairly easily.

Hi Duder,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I didn't recognize the String Altering drop down as it is labeled "Translate/re-phrase the software" in the latest version of OCP.

Thanks,
Greenhorn
