Uploaded avatars are not resizing on the forum postings. When looking at the images, they are OK on the member displays (information) but when viewing forum postings, they are oversized and do not display properly. Maybe there is something in the forum display settings which address this?

I have the thumbnail width set to 200px. Lowering the thumbnail image size does not help. The original image size is overwhelming the forum posts. What did I miss since I'm getting more views of my forums?

Avatars aren't thumbnailed, as they only exist at one size. If that size exceeds the space available (as defined in the CSS) for the forum, it would bleed out.

If you want to increase the space the avatar is in, it's in here in ocf.css

Code

.ocf_topic>div>div>div:first-child {
   {+START,IF,{$NOT,{$MOBILE}}}
      width: 130px;
   {+END}
   {+START,IF,{$MOBILE}}
      width: 80px;
   {+END}
   background-color: {$GET,area_background};
   padding: 0.3em;
   vertical-align: middle;
}
If you wish to size down the avatars in the browser, change:

Code

.ocf_topic_post_avatar {
   margin: 0 auto;
}
to:

Code

.ocf_topic_post_avatar {
   margin: 0 auto;
   max-width: 100%;
}

I appreciate it but when I upload an image here to ocportal.com, it does not exhibit this behaviour. I would think that this is automatically done for uploaded images to be used as avatars.

The above changes worked but shouldn't this be done automatically? It seems to work here. I will say that my site does use a theme generated through OcPortal from earlier versions. Maybe that is the issue?

Maybe you upped the max avatar size in the group settings. That could happen also if you imported (would take size from what you imported from).

We'll be including that second max-width changed in v10, I generally agree with your point.

I did up the max-upload size for the admins :). If this was the issue, I appreciate the CSS fix in the interim until we get a OcPortal 10 (beta) ... :)
