Well-settled

Ok, so here is a tricky question.
I completely rebuilt my site with V9 as opposed to trying to upgrade it from V7.

Now I had some interviews that I have done in the old site and of course after I redid them in the new site the dates all reflect the current date that I redid them at.
It would be very beneficial if the actual date that I did the interviews reflected the actual day that I did them.

So my question is…
Is there any way (or what is the best way) to change the dates in a news/blog category (to an earlier date) without messing up the database, etc?

Does any of this make sense?
Thanx
Gerald

Yes…

If you edit news so the publication date is in the past it should consider that an edit of the add date for that news. You need to have CRON setup for the publication date option to appear on the news form.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

You can temporarily cheat by calling up /data/cron_bridge.php manually. That'll trick ocPortal into thinking it is enabled for a short time (until ocPortal detects it's not been called in a while).

Well I couldn't get this to work so I ended up modify the database files (yes I backed them up first) and I got everything to the way I need them.
Thanx for your help Chris.
