I ran Optimize/fix database tables a couple of days ago, and since I can no longer diplay cedi typ=tree. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do before I restore a backup?  I hate to loose any content, and I assume I will if I have to go that route. Won't I?

Hi,

Is there some kind of error message that happens when you do it?

We should be able to get it fixed for you without any need to restore.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

No. no error message, just "Internet Explorer cannot display the web page" in Firefox, just a blank screen.

Could be a memory limit problem. Could you remind me of the URL it happens on. Are the FTP details I used to correct the failed upgrade before still valid, if I need to go in and debug?

Hi,

Fixed. It was a really weird problem. The server was "timing out" after about 7 seconds, instead of the normal 30 seconds, but only if the page hadn't outputted within that time. I've not seen this before.

So I've added in something to make it "stay alive" until the page finishes outputting.

It started happening as there's a lot of data, but don't let that worry you – if you get any similar problems elsewhere let me know and I can apply a similar fix.
