Well-settled

I've been having some further troubles with the CEDI.  (Thanks for all the help prior)  I've noticed however that the CEDI search feature doesn't work.  It gives me a " This search type is not available: it is likely the content it is for has been disabled, or does not yet exist." error.  In addition the side_search module will search the forums but not the CEDI.  Any thoughts on all of this?  As it stands because of the tree access to the posts it's not that big a deal but one of the nice things about a wiki (by any other name) is the ability to search for a word without having to know exactly where to look.

Thanks again for all the help,
Geo

Same error message on mine.

Edit.
While we're at it on CEDI, the "tree" link on the left page CEDI block triggers this error message :

Code

Cannot write to /home/www/79b6e32e84e56429886f618842f9bf17/web/baseforumtest/ocpjps/site/pages/html_custom/FR/cedi_tree_made.htm. File permissions for it have not been set correctly.
Seen like this, it's not hard to correct the permission fault.
Snag is, this is what can be seen on the page :

Hard to identify which folder must have it's permissions changed. Was really in the blue, until i copy/pasted it in this post.
Small detail, but if you're looking for ideas for v3.1x …  :thumbs:

For that "search type not available" thing, enable CEDI in your configuration. Whilst CEDI will work as an isolated system when 'disabled', it's integration to other parts in ocPortal will not.
You can program the side_search block to only search CEDI, by doing this Comcode…

Code

[block limit_to="cedi_posts"]side_search[/block]
To get it to search multiple things but not only the default things, is a bit more complex. You need to edit the BLOCK_SIDE_SEARCH template. For example replace:

Code

         <input type="hidden" name="{LIMIT_TO*}" value="1" />
with:

Code

         <input type="hidden" name="search_downloads" value="1" />
         <input type="hidden" name="cedi_posts" value="1" />
This example sets the block to search downloads and CEDI. To find out all the codenames for the various search engines, look at the filenames in sources/hooks/modules/search/.
(I realise this is rather complex, but the search block wasn't really designed to be easily configurable in this way – we'll consider changing that)

Where in "configuration" do I enable the CEDI?

Don't know if that's the one, but you can find "Shall we put CEDI (Community Database) statistics into the statistics block?" in administration/configuration/feature options.
I checked the box, tell you what effect it had tomorrow.

Feature options, CEDI.

Infact, now I look at it, that config option has a very poor description (it implies the option is only related to the statistics block). I'll fix that.

Speaking of cedi where are the entries stored in the my phpadmin?

They're in the ocp3_seedy_* tables, where "ocp3_" is your database prefix. :)

This is due to the system being renamed; we left the table names as they were to prevent data loss during upgrades.

The CEDI search engine will only return the disabled message on one of two conditions:
  • the CEDI option is disabled in the configuration
  • the 'cedi' page that the search page looks at for permissions checking, doesn't have access for the member trying to do a search. If you got to the search via the cedi page, the only way I could see it happening is if you had two copies of the cedi page, and you'd started at one in a non-default zone, but the one in the 'site' zone didn't have permissions.

Very strange indeed.

You could try replacing lines 23-25 of sources/hooks/modules/search/cedi_posts.php with:

Code

      // if (!has_actual_page_access(get_member(),'cedi')) return NULL;

      // if (get_option('is_on_seedy',true)!='1') return NULL;

this'll disable the "disabled" checks in the code itself. But it shouldn't be necessarily.

Well enabling the CEDI fixed the problem.  Thanks alot for all the help.  Just so you know once the CEDI is on, the main search will pull the CEDI info up as well.  It's pretty much awesome.

I'm very surprised to hear of this. In particular because the CEDI stats are purely dependent on that option and don't even reference or link to the CEDI page.
Is it's not just CEDI stats that have gone missing, then it's probably due to the side_stats block not being on your new zone's panel yet.

Is the search problem the same as when the option wasn't on?
