Setting up my porfolio site, I disabled all the default catalogues but decided I want to do a links one. Since this was a default option, is it possible to quickly re-add this catalogue back?

'Disabled' or 'Deleted'?

  • If it is the latter, it warns that it is "immediate and irreversible", and I have no idea how you can get it back …

  • If it is the former … Admin >> Content >> Catalogues >> Edit catalogue category - where you will need to re-set the permissions to what you want.

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

Must be deleted because there are no catalogues. I could of sworn during the setup wizard process I just didn'twant to use them and that's why they aren't there… guess I just wiped them out completely? lol

Ooooops!

I am still using v 3.2.10, but to the best of knowledge, following the various releases and threads, I seem to remember reading that the later versions had a 'use' - 'don't use' functionality at setup, and that if you chose not to use initially, that it was easy-peasy re-activating the module you disabled at setup.

Perhaps the staff can enlighten on this feature.

Good luck!

For addons that's the case, but for this, sorry it's just deleted. However it's really easy to add again. I think the links catalogue only has a two or three fields- Name, URL and possibly description. You'll probably benefit from re-adding it anyway, as you can choose exactly what you want.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I'm not catalogue savvy, but I'll try and work through on re-adding it.

(Public) Thank you Fletch. I got my links stuff up and running again. I was confused about one area but I played with it and finally figured it out.
