Catalogue Problems

Hi guys. I've spent a whole day trying to get the catalogue system to work. I've tried the quick fill option and also the manual input option but I keep hitting the same problem. When I look at the list I've created (in this case it's a list of UK counties) they just don't and won't go into alphabetical order. I though I had solved it several times but I just can't get it to do this. What am I doing wrong?

What version of ocPortal are you using?
If I read your post right is a problem I had that was fixed in one of the newest versions.
I could how ever be reading what your saying incorrectly though.

Difficult to 'guess' at the problem you're undergoing, but let's assume that this is a 'basic' misunderstanding of the settings . . .

In the specific Catalogue settings, have you set the field  ORDER (0 = first … 9 = last) and that you've set up the 'Defined Order' of "No/Ascending/Descending"?

You can see what I mean by looking at one of my catalogue setups.

If that is what you're after, then what I said earlier is the way to set things up.

Shout if it doesn't help!

Not sure if mine was right either but yours and mine do together maybe the solution to the problem or one or the other.

thank you for the prompt response. I am OK setting up the actual catalogue. The problem occurs when I'm adding categories. There doesn't seem to be the 'ordering' option available when I'm submitting categories.

I've tried using the quick add function for the categories when I set up the catalogue - even though my string of categories is in alphabetical order when I use this, the list still doesn't come out alphabetically.

When I tried doing it the long way, irrespective as to what order I input the categories, they still don't come out in order.

I spent hours yesterday trying all sorts of options, read the tutorial etc but I just can't get this to work. I think it's the newest version I'm using.

That still sounds like the problem I had that was fixed in one of the latest versions.
