Form for users to enter data

How to I get ocPortal to simply give me a form for users to enter information without the Category (Top of form), Feedback and Notes and the Search Engine Optimisation, and tagging in my form.
The dynamic block "A contact form, using a catalogue as a template" is almost what I want but it does not save the entries into the catalogue. Can I get this to do that?

Can what I want be done?

Hi Robert,

You'd need to edit the PHP code for this, or do some kind of sneaky thing in some custom JavaScript like hiding the unwanted field rows.

  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thanks Chris,

I figured it would be something like that.
I though I would ask anyway, in case there was some setting that I was missing to remove it. I did disabled feedback, but that didn't seem to work. Do I need to modify a template? if so which one?

Again Thanks,

Robert W

I'm afraid there aren't any direct instructions I can give, other than if I sat down for an hour or so and started coding myself.
