Here is a list of catalog data types that are giving problems while editing or displaying entries.

1. Multiple values chosen from a list: When unselecting (Ctrl+click) values, so none are selected, it appears that action is not saved, the choice is still displayed on the entry's page. (0000590: Multiple values chosen from a list: When unselecting (Ctrl+click) values, so none are selected, it appears that action is not sa - ocPortal feature tracker)

2. A link to an item of 'gallery' content: Displays as a number instead of the (sub)gallery's name. (0000589: A link to an item of 'gallery' content: Displays as a number instead of the (sub)gallery's name. - ocPortal feature tracker)

3. Multiple brief lines of text (no comcode support): Displays as a single line instead of multiple lines. (0000588: Multiple brief lines of text (no comcode support) displays as a single line with no spaces between entries. - ocPortal feature tracker)

4. [Fixed] An author configured on the system: Displayed selection list is missing most of the authors (3 listed (image 1), 13 actual (image 4). Clicking on an author in that listing does nothing (image 2). Manually adding the author to the field does not display a link to that author (image 3).

The only thing that has changed is when typing in a member's name, the drop down list will appear now. Everything else is still the same as before.

Ah. I'd messed up the hotfix originally and refiled it, obviously that didn't work.

You can pull the 3 changed templates direct off of github:

I've applied the changes, cleared the caches (including browser) and still no change.

What should I see? I expected to see a popup  populated with member's author profile page links. Should this popup be using the new style overlays? The rest of my site is using the new overlays.

Yes, it should show in an overlay, not a popup. I wasn't happy with the last fix, so I have made another one. It should have worked before, but regardless let's try this one.

It's one step closer to being fixed…

Should I apply both hotfixes listed (hotfix-519, 2012-05-27 4pm.tar, hotfix-519, 2012-05-29 3pm.tar) or just the latest one (hotfix-519, 2012-05-29 3pm.tar)?

I applied just the latest one, cleared the caches and tested.
Fixed:
  • clicking on links in the author popup list now properly populate the data field
Remaining issues:
  • popup not fully populated with author links
  • popup instead of overlay
  • populated data field not showing a clickable link while viewing catalog entry

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this one.

popup not fully populated with author links

It only populates completed author profiles. I believe the autocomplete will find usernames (these are automatically, but somewhat-informally, considered authors), but the popup limits to what is fully configured.

popup instead of overlay

I checked on your server. This template on your server seems to be out of date:
Attachment
themes\default\templates\HYPERLINK_POPUP_WINDOW.tpl
» Download: HYPERLINK_POPUP_WINDOW.tpl (494 Bytes, 36 downloads so far)

populated data field not showing a clickable link while viewing catalog entry

See my post above.

Thanks, Chris, it's fixed now.

The other 3 issues listed in the first post I'll enter into the tracker (and reference them to that post) to help keep things sorted.

I can't remember why there were two hotfixes in #See first hotfix in #519, but they both need applying.

You asked about that and I forgot to answer.

(I think this was the first topic I was testing the new hotfix system on, or one of the first)

I applied the other hotfix and that did correct the other errors.

One question on item #2 (A link to an item of 'gallery' content). Is it by design the link shows as just "gallery" and not the actual gallery name?

That should have been fixed -- I double checked this morning.

The link opens to the correct gallery but the links shows as the top level gallery "Galleries".
