Have you changed your cookie settings at some point, or changed your base URL? This can cause the problem as old cookies can get stuck.

Clearing the cookies for your website might fix the problem.

also when I go to another members profile as admin it cmes up with admins profile

So you visit a screen with a URL like /site/index.php?page=members&type=view&id=2 and it is showing the wrong user? (i.e. in this case, not member #2). That's very strange indeed. I'd suspect your ISP is doing some very bad caching which could also explain the first problem.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

What happens if you try on another web browser? (e.g. if you're using Firefox, try Internet Explorer, or vice-versa).

Hi,

I still had FTP access from when I had to fix something on your server before so I took a look.

We have a little bit of code in our sources/users.php file that we can enable via FTP to create a temporary backdoor for a specific IP address (it let's us get into a site when we have FTP write access but no ocPortal access - speeds things up a lot).

It turned out the code file there was programmed to let your IP address in permanently - auto-logging you in.

I'm not sure how that would come to be, but anyway I've disabled that bit of code and I think you'll be logged out now.
