I try to login to the adminzone, and get the following error message and keep getting promted to login again.

"You do not have access to the zone, adminzone (or the zone requires a session login, and you are only logged in with cookies)."

How do get a session login?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A session login is just a normal login that was manually done and wasn't triggered by the browser remembering a previous login.

It sounds like authentication is not working for you, or you are using the wrong username/password. What forum driver are you using (e.g. OCF, IPB, …)?

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Forum driver?  I don't know what you mean.

When you install ocPortal it asks which forum driver to use. You use different forum drivers to integrate ocPortal with the user databases of different forum systems. If you chose to use 'our own forum' then you are using the 'OCF' forum driver. If you got ocPortal via Installatron or some other hosting control panel, then you'll also be using the 'OCF' forum driver.
The forum driver handles all authentication, so if there's a problem we need to diagnose, we would need to know where the problem lies and therefore which forum driver.
