Moving forward with Composr

ocPortal has been relaunched as Composr CMS, which is now in beta. ocPortal 9 will be superseded by Composr 10.

Head over to compo.sr for our new site, and to our migration roadmap. Existing ocPortal member accounts have been mirrored.

Code

[semihtml]
 [url="http://mysite.co.uk/site/index.php?page=start"][img]http://mysite.co.uk/buttons/services.jpg[/img][/url]<span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span>[/semihtml]
'This' is a linked button is my (LH) panel (which works :o). How can I stop it opening in a new window when I click it??

(I ALWAYS use Firefox if it ever makes a difference).;)

One way you could do it is:

Code

 [semihtml]
 [url="http://mysite.co.uk/site/index.php?page=start" target="_top"][img]http://mysite.co.uk/buttons/services.jpg[/img][/url]<span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span>[/semihtml]

but this is better:

Code

 [semihtml]
 [page="site:start"][img]http://mysite.co.uk/buttons/services.jpg[/img][/page]<span style="text-decoration: underline;"></span>[/semihtml]

  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

 Please!! (forgot to say please in the first post):$

Does the second work for individual buttons linking to more than one button to different URLs? You close a URL without opening it… ??

I think I know what you want.
You could do it this way.

Code

 [semihtml]<a herf="http://mysite.co.uk/site/index.php?page=start"><img src="http://mysite.co.uk/buttons/services.jpg" /></a>[/semihtml]

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

My brain must be half disengaged. My previous post is now edited.

Chris's first example works a treat, but I will use all three - thanks.

(I hope I am not making long days even longer…)

;)

You may be disappointed to find I am using in this instance OCP to build a basic website… (the equivalent of using a Suzuki GSX 1400 for motoX rally). But I need and it will utilise all the features eventually.

your not making my day longer. You actually remind me of a friend whom I helped out for a long time and actually I miss helping her out and hope she gets out of the hospital soon.
