Hello,
I just tried to make a new install into the new folder and new database. Everything went OK, but when I clicked on Configure ocPortal right after install, on the the second step I was asked password again, then again and there was a message at the bottom of the page

You do not have access to the zone, adminzone (or the zone requires a session login, and you are only logged in with cookies).

Where is the problem?

Hi,

I've had a look at your cookie configuration and it seems ok. Therefore I'd consider the possibility that you have some cookies left over from your old site, overriding the site's attempt to place new ones.

If you're using Firefox, there's an ability to delete all the cookies from a domain within it (but be very careful because Firefox has a big usability problem here that makes it easy to delete all your cookies by mistake).

If you're using IE, I'd download some freeware cookie manager tool (there are quite a few) and use that.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
