Maybe a bug, maybe not.  I don't remember if you could get to this the default way galleries were set up.

But I have a gallery zone.  In that zone menu I have a 'Your Gallery'  menu option to take a user straight to their gallery.    If there are no images in their gallery yet, it gives an error.  They have to add an image first.

Nothing big, but maybe something to think about for v8.   That is *IF* there is a way to go to their own gallery before they add images in the default setup.

I don't think it's quite that. I think it's that the member gallery itself isn't there (i.e. has not been autocreated yet, because nothing submitted to it yet), which is a bit more troublesome to solve. From the user it's the same, but not for the code.

In v8 though there'll be a way to submit to personal galleries via member profile, which is a bit nicer.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
