Put together a test site to see how the blogger back ported import works and came across an error message.

Error Message

There is an error (The tag i was closed but it was not the last tag in that level to be opened, which was s) in your Comcode at line 3.

Hmm, my test import of your data worked, but maybe you've added some more that is tripping it up since. Regardless I know what is causing this. Saying something like:

Code

[I test]
will trip up Comcode because it thinks you're opening an 'I' tag. So if your blog had that it potentially wouldn't like it. I've just coded the v8 Comcode parser to be a bit smarter about this. I'll also turn on the "lax" mode for when blogs are being imported, because ocPortal is capable of recovering from this kind of thing, it shouldn't have to bail out on it.

As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.

Thanks Chris…a lot of this went over my head, but i really appreciate you putting it in the most recent update, i wasnt expecting anything till v8.

Is there anything i can do to get it working with the current version, or should i just wait till v8?

You can try that. If it doesn't work and leaves you with partial news import, I can show you how to mass-delete news articles using OcCLE.

Don't show at all, or are still linking to blogger?

It worked during testing, but I also noticed blogger seems to have multiple slightly different atom formats, so possibly it didn't work on the particular feed you used.

I will re-test if I can have access to the exact feed you imported.
