Well-settled

Fixed Height & Width

I think this is a great feature, but I've noticed that the dimension must be pre-set or is fixed. My members can upload of whatever advertisements they choose, but they must be strictly at a specific dimension. I've added a lot of custom banner dimensions, but there are like 10 of them.

I was wondering if I could allow a banner to be uploaded for any dimension within a certain frame.

For example, if my default banner dimension is set a 468x60, how can I allow anything within this or below? Say I had a banner of 400x40, how could I also allow this using that default dimension selection?

Yeah there's a config option to remove the restraint. The template contains width="{WIDTH*}" but no specification of height, so it should be able to grow vertically once that option is enabled.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
