How do you put a background image on a comcode page? Or even change the background color?

Use the Comcode HTML tag to add whatever HTML you need to the page.

If you find that the visual context a Comcode page is placed-within too restrictive (e.g. you don't like the white background) then you can change the CSS and the GLOBAL.tpl and COMCODE_PAGE_SCREEN templates of your theme, to change that context to whatever you like.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Yeah its just for 1-off pages - like a CEDI page or a title page. I will play with it - thanks.

Hate to tell you this but it works fine in the editor but when I save it - its gone.

Aha its changing it to "bordered table" and taking out my colors.

I actually want to end up with something like this but haven't even tried to nest anything yet.

You might want to turn the WYSIWYG editor off when editing advanced HTML. ocPortal heavily filters it's output.

I've noticed the WYSWYG editor is buggy working with HTML in FireFox but seems to function fine in IE  O_o  Strange I know. This was working on a rather large table.

I'm not sure if this was your issue just throwing in out there for a FYI.

I am just glad there is an editor @ all for FF since MSN groups and most PHPBB forums you can't post much @ all if you don't know any HTML. A background button would be nice though.

Most boards/ forums do not allow html so you need bbcode and some sites like mine have custom bbcode as thats a nice option of ipb.

I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.
