Unfortunately, my server Administrator doesn't allow the unzipping of archives on the server for many "security reasons", so I'm sadly left uploading multiple files individually.

I doubt it as I've looked, but there wouldn't perhaps be an alternate method of bulk-uploading images to the gallery, would there? Again, using the Bulk-Upload Assistant isn't an option for me as the archives cannot be extracted on the server. If not, I think a multi-uploading form should be added (multiple textareas for uploading numerous images) to the galleries page in the Content Management zone (not all of us have fancy webhosts, ya know! ;))

Upload files to the uploads/galleries directory, then you'll find there's an option somewhere beneath the 'Galleries' icon in the CMS zone to add 'orphaned images'.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Once you get under the 'Galleries' CMS zone icon, choose the 'Import to gallery' icon, choose a gallery, and then you should see any orphaned images on the next screen.
