is there a way to grant edit of a compage to a specific member

I have been searching the membership options, and i see where you can check to see if a member has access to a page, is there a way to give edit access to a specific page to a specific member without making them an admin?

In addition is there a list as to what permissions each usergroup has?

TY in advance for your help

I think I may have this figured out.. we will see, but I am having a lot of problems finding this SU feature used to view the site as if i was that member to test it. The doc says it's in my personal stats box, I don't see it.

SU feature is in footer, looks like docs are updated - I will fix that.

Or, append &keep_su=<Username> to the URL

Just press enter after typing, no button needed, we had to conserve space down there

LOL.. looked over the documents, and I used

Code

{$USER}
 to get the id number of 5 then tried..

Code

{$HAS_EDIT_PERMISSION,5}
 .. should have known not going to be that easy, didn't work. Is that more for the forums? It is hard to decipher in some of these docs.. for instance some talk about setting up a usergroup for each content category, but there isn't a way to make compages into a category, so must be about the forums, I am guessing.

At any rate, I was able to go through the permissions and at least remove anything that they could do that would damage the site, that's what I was most concerned with. Even removed the delete from that group, so even if the went in and manually erased all the content, I could just do a restore of that page. The worst that can happen now is if they put silly stuff on someone else page, and once again that can be restored to an earlier version SO GLAD YOU HAVE THAT! Really starting to like OcPortal as a whole. I think if I have time I see a need to maybe write a mod for putting compages into a category. Then, it would be a simple matter of creating a single user group and allowing edit of that category.

Thanks again for the help.. now let me see if I can find out what happened to my SU button.. I used the url append.

There are no configurable per-member permissions in ocPortal, and editing permission cannot be set in individual pages. The latter is coming in v10 on a per-zone basis.

Sorry, I didn't read your post initially, was just responding to the specific question about SU.

The docs are not clear on the issue as it is outside what the product can actually do.

Probably SU didn't work if you spelled the username differently somehow.

yup, that's ok.. got what I need for now.. Do think a categories for compages would be useful. I know they are designed as stand alone. This would just go to flexibility, having stand alone within a category, without having to make a new zone. Or maybe I should look at the zone thing a little closer. I could have made a DJ zone, then do the translucent redirect for those pages.. ah.. lol.. lot to learn yet.

Oh and add.. lot to learn, and yet still in just a few days time I have a functioning website because of the ease of use of the ocPortal.. so please do not think I am complaining. I think you have a great creation here, and can't wait to see how it grows, and be part of that :)

Thanks. Right, so essentially a zone is a category for pages. So v10 will do what you originally intended. v10 also weakens the necessity of a zone to determine URLs, as things can get completely customised URLs rather than working on an inbuilt structure.
