I've got a silly stupid question for ya...

Having an issue that I changed the "front / site" page — it's all great — however for some reason when a user first logs in, the front page looks completely different with all kinds of boxes that I don't have on my front page — … Tried to find this "mystery" page but have had no luck — ? O_o

it sounds like when you installed ocp you unchecked the zone box and chose not to use the Welcome and Site as the same zone.  This would account for the differences in pages.  In this configuration When a person first hits you site, they are delivered to the welcome zone, and once they log in they are directed to your site zone.

This can be changed by re-running the setup wizard and checking the box that chipster mentioned.

Ugh, it made me reconfigure some of my stuff again — but it's working — Strange thing is that when I ran through that setup wizard, there was a bunch of stuff that I had set in there that didnt go through, I had to go and manually change alot of the settings that the wizard was supposed to do the first time…

Now, this is probably the most vague report of an issue you all have ever seen, and it didnt do it on the first site I setup (which was 4.1.8 vs. 4.1.9 this time)…

Anywhew, luckly I was not far into customizing the site  :)

Maybe there is a bug in there, not sure. There is another way to accomplish what you were after, however, the second method (setting redirects) would be better served after you've had some experience with OCP.

Enjoy!!

I think you might be a little confused as how OCP set up wizard works.  When you ran it the second time around, you were probably expecting to see the modules you already had installed checked.  However, the set up wizard doesn't read your existing configuration, so if you had installed modules the first time around rest assured they were installed.

SoccerDad is correct though, and I should have been clearer in my first post.  The easiest way of fixing this would have been to go to:
Admin Zone / Structure  / Redirects
and set up a redirect from your  Welcome Zone / Start page to to Site Zone / Start Page.
