When  use select * from ocp2_f_members; the following users show up

Guest
Admin
test
phil
Jones_Mike
Ptaylor

But when I goto admin->tools->Edit Members I only see these users

Admin

Ptaylor has probably not been activated, and a Guest is not a regular member.

Become a fan of ocPortal on Facebook or add me as a friend. Add me on on Twitter.
Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I should have said 'validated' rather than 'activated'. If there are any unvalidated "resources" on your site (including members), you can reach them from your Admin Zone front page. The Admin Zone front page will tell you have unvalidated resources and provide a link to see them- you'll then get an option to choose to edit any unvalidated member. That will bring up the edit screen. ocPortal isn't really designed for members to be deleted - you'd usually just choose not to validate them and leave the unvalidated account behind. If you edit the account it will give you the option to validate it, and it will also activate the account if it is non-activated. Then it should start showing up in the members list, and you could delete it via the delete link in the member profile view page.

That's very odd, I can't explain it. So ptaylor definitely exists in the database, yet isn't shown in the member directory?

Anyway, I don't think there's a bug here because I've looked over the code very carefully now and I don't see any other possibilities.

I'll just give one quick piece of advice: if you can find the ID number from the database, you could then go to
http://www.cyberchatnet.com/community/personalzone/index.php?page=delete&type=misc&id=<id>
