Error Messages

I've been getting recent critical error bailouts when editing comcode pages, especially when done from the admin zone. A typical message looks like this (urls edited):

Critical error – bailing out

This is an error that has been elevated to critical error status because it occurred during the primary error mechanism reporting system itself (possibly due to it occuring within the standard output framework). It may be masking a secondary error that occurred before this, but was never output - if so, it is likely strongly related to this one, thus fixing this will fix the other.

Hi,

It looks like you have a replaced sources/form_templates.php, although I could not see what hotfix this would have been updated in. It is depending on an updated sources/support.php. I suspect uploading this will fix it:

Spoke too soon. As soon as I edited a menu item, I now get the following:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method database_driver::table_is_locked() in ///sources/support.php on line 1391

This is also the output from a cron job that was forwarded to my email as well:

PHP Fatal error:  Call to undefined method database_driver::table_is_locked() in //sources/support.php on line 1391
<br />
<b>Fatal error</b>:  Call to undefined method database_driver::table_is_locked() in <b>//sources/support.php</b> on line <b>1391</b><br />

What did you change recently that might have caused this? Did you install some specific hotfix, or manually locate file(s) out of git?

I have not done programming for the past 20+ years but is there a possible problem with the DB locking by my host? These appear to be the lines in question from the source file uploaded per the above:

{
         $NUM_USERS_SITE=strva
l($count);
         if (!$GLOBALS['SITE_DB']->table_is_locked('values'))
            set_valu
e('users_online',$NUM_USERS_SITE);
      }

It was hotfixes for 9.06 as they were updated. I do not upload anything from git, as things there are too 'cutting edge' for my tastes.

That one worked. I was able to edit the site menus and the site is back up.

All hot fixes? I'd advise against installing ones you don't necessarily need, as we don't have the resources to test each one outside the immediate context it was written within. If we muck one up, we'll probably be working with those who applied it to smooth over any issues – but if you apply lots, there's a pretty high risk of this kind of thing unfortunately.

Regardless, I hope we have the time to get a new patch release out next week. As you can see, things have moved on a bit.

OK. I do not have a very busy site but like to keep things updated, just in case. To be honest, only 2, maybe 3 of the 26 fixes available for version 9.06, were actually needed for problems that were occurring.

I will only limit using the hot-fixes to actual problems occurring on the site from now on.
