I am testing out the latest OCPortal "virtual machine" from bitnami .
After accessing ocportal, there are various error messages about not having access to comcode tags and such. Access to admin zone is also not possible (with an admin account no less).

I was wondering if this could be caused by not setting file permissions with chmod ?
If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.

Thanks.

This can happen if the Comcode pages are marked as owned by Guest. We used to have them like this in older versions, but it was changed it -- they may not have created the package via running an ocPortal upgrade and not correcting the problem before repackaging. Emptying the comcode_pages and cached_comcode_pages tables should fix it.

Ok, went into myphpadmin and deleted the contents of those tables. Like magic the site came up and was working almost 100%. Your advice worked well. Thanks Chris! :)

There is still an issue or 2. For some reason the Google UK RSS feed could not be displayed

Could not open the RSS/Atom stream, Google News U.K. - World

<tagline>Google News U.K. - World</tagline>

< [could not connect to host (php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known)]

And this displayed in the Admin Zone:
Cannot connect to the server in the URL, http://data.alexa.com/data?cli=10&dat=s&url=http://josue-pc:8080/ocportal; the “php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known” error was received.

However I am thinking that it may be due to misconfigured internet settings on the VM server.

Yes, looks like it, could you mention that to them.
EDIT: Actually, not sure if they do the VM, if not nevermind.

Hello everybody,

First of all, I want to apologize on behalf of the BitNami team. We should have caught this.

We are in the process of releasing a new version of ocPortal Stack that will fix the Comcode permissions issue. I will let you know when it's ready.

EDIT: The new version is out, see my next post

Thanks Josue, it's really great for you to come over here and explain this. We're always very busy on this end, and I'm sure you're busy too, so it sets you apart that you bridged the gap so well.

The new version is out. You can download it from http://bitnami.org/stack/ocportal. It fixes the Comcode permissions issue (thanks samurai_jack for reporting this) and it's based on the latest ocPortal available at this time (7.1).

I will keep an eye on this thread for a while, so please let me know if you encounter any other issue. Suggestions are also welcome.
