adding new zone without ftp

my server do not have ftp. It only has SFTP

when I try to add a new zone with ocportal adminzone, it asks for a ftp login..

I tried with php write permission

Cannot create a directory /home/xxxx/public_html/v4/newzone/pages/minimodules_custom. Please apply full write permissions to the parent directory (/home/xxxx/public_html/v4/newzone/pages).

I created and gave 777 permission to /v4/newzone/pages (I have only this level of access)… now it said zone created, but the zone reflects no where…

is there a way we can create new zones without ftp..?

thanks

You would need to give 777 on the base directory of ocPortal for it to be able to then add anything under that in a new directory.

Hello,

For the first problem, it sounds like the zone might not have fully installed, which can happen if the files are extracted but some error happens in the process. Try visiting it, which should force an install it the files are there for it correct.

Unfortunately it sounds like your server is poorly configured. It neither has SuExec (which would make the server run your files as the same user you connect with) nor FTP capability, so there is no way at all for PHP to manipulate files in a good way. The best you can do is set extra world permissions like you've done, but as you can see this doesn't have good consequences.
