Chris,

I would like to add a hyperlink to text that is on the footer. I have the text "powered by OCPortal Software" in the same area as the site copyright, and currently it is not hyperlinked (but should be). A site user could more conveniently find your site if interested in obtaining their own version of OCP.

What would I need to edit to add a link to that text?

Thanks

Hi,

If I read correctly you're saving the link into the 'copyright' option, at the end?
I think the 'copyright' option actually supports HTML so you can type the link as HTML directly into there.

p.s. Thanks for the link :).

I used:

Setup > Configuration > Site options > General > Default flagrant text

Code

Website powered by <a href="http://www.ocportal.com">ocPortal</a>

Since we have no other flagrant text, this works great.

Wow that works great! I added it in the copyright line.

Yes, with all the hard work you do completely charge free, that's the least I can do

Thanks Chris and Soccerdad

Slight Problem......

Though it hyperlinks properly in the copyright line, another problems developed. Exact code used on that line -

Website powered by <a href="ocPortal - where Content Management meets Web 2.0">ocPortal Software</a>

Now at the very top of the page in the left hand corner, this appears -

ocPortal Software" />

Just as you see above, on a thin white strip that runs all the way across the top of the page, in both FF and IE7. Any suggestions?

Hi,

Okay, putting it on the copyright line isn't going to work actually. 'Copyright' is actually used in many places, including as a 'meta' tag, which won't allow HTML tags to be embedded.

I'd follow Soccerdad's advice, or put it directly into the FOOTER template.

I don't understand the process for inserting the code in the footer.tpl file.

Any tips on how I should do that?

Thanks

FOOTER contains {$COPYRIGHT`}. Just paste the HTML to go after that right after it.
