After upgrading from 6.1.1 to 7.0.1, I noticed that any first-party add-on which was not installed in 6.1.1 remained at version 6.1.1 while installed add-ons were updated to version 7.0.1. My question is will I get the appropriate version if I decide to install an add-on now?

As an example, I didn't have downloads installed in version 6.1.1 and the version reflected in the Structure->Add-ons is 6.1.1. If I choose to install downloads in my 7.0.1 upgraded site, will the proper version of the Downloads add-on be installed or do I need to manually download the add-on from somewhere and manually update it.

Thanks for any help.

Bob

EDIT: More pointedly, if I install the Facebook add-on will I get version 6.1.1 (as it surrently displays) or will I get the new and improved Facebook add-on for version 7?

If you disabled any core modules (such as the downloads) and decided later after a few upgrades that you wanted them, yes, you will get the latest version.

Chris and team have been updating the third party addons they have been creating.  If you watch this thread, you'll see which ones have been updated.

Hi Bob,

There is a small bug here.

When you upgrade, the upgrader is smart enough to upgrade the backed up TAR addons too, so when you reinstall them they are of the latest version also.

However it's not updating the version number in them, hence the confusion. We'll fix that.

Thanks, Eric and Chris. I kind of figured add-ons were updated in the upgrade but just wanted to make sure.

By the way, have I mentioned lately how happy I am that I found ocPortal - both for the software and the community.
