Well-settled

Hi there,

I've been installing and evaluating countless CM-systems over the past couple of weeks now and am very happy I stumbled across ocPortal. It's the first solution I found that has all the features I need right out-of-the box. Congrats!

With all the reading (and translating) I did in the past days, I could not find if OCP has one key feature I need: We are going to run a website for a car club and need two levels of members, i.e. website-only members and paying club members, represented by two different member groups. Paying club members should be able to see more/different content than web-only members.

Big question is now: Can this be done within a single zone? E.g. making single forum groups available to single/multiple user groups? Granting access to single static pages to one or the other group, not just based on the user being logged in or not?

Hello and welcome, Yes you can make an individual page only visible to a certain user group.   :)

Hi,

and will that access control be on an administrative level (i.e. in some "visible for groups A and B" property) of the page or Forum or does it have to be comcoded into the page itself (some kind of "display if group is A or group is B"). In the latter case, what about Forums?

Sorry to be so persistent, but I'd really like to know if those things are feasible before I spend all the time customising the system.

I'm really fond of ocp, and would definitely give it an chance. I even started a German translation of my own. Yes I know about the launchpad project, but different people there mix automatically translated phrases with formal and informal German, and the translation just is not consequent yet.

Have a nice one,
Lowlander

Yes every page has a permissions list and you can turn the page on or off for each user group, as long as you have created the user groups first you should not have a problem.

I've been doping something similar with my site which I'm still working, its mostly on a zone level but there are some pages in normally fully open zones which are hidden to all but one user group
