Well-settled

Greetings,

A puzzling case, this, and possibly not attributable to  ocP's workings, but as I've been unable to rectify it, I'd be really grateful for anyone's savvy as to its likely cause and remedy. Here's the issue:

I have an ocP v9.0.16 powered website specifically for pursuing research with a colleague in Bulgaria. She's able to receive notifications for new Forums posts and topics, and for Filedump additions, via email and Private Topics  as set in her Profile, but not for newly added Catalogues entries. What is strange, is that this issue doesn't apply in my case - I receive them just fine, both for entries I have and she has added. It's crucially important that she does get notified of these, as they're work-related and are being added every day. Would anyone, please, be able to advise?

Many thanks for reading!

Sorry for the bug, this is now fixed in this commit:
https://github.com/chrisgraham/ocPortal/commit/d1fa50eede17af49bdbe1fbf7e0617163eff25b5

As you're running an old version I thought it better to link to the changes rather than send direct files which may no longer be compatible. They probably are though, so you can download the latest 2 changed files from git also.

  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about Composr whenever you see the opportunity or support me on Patreon.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying Composr on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Thorough thanks to you, Chris! All's working fine now and just as we were needing.

Along with my own gratitude and admiration, as always, for your kind attention, care and time, my colleague's likewise.

Best regards and wishes from Suffolk and Sofia!
