Hi Everyone,

I've just been trying to make my test accounts invisible on the members list. I did this by creating a 'tester' sergroup and making it invisible. I then changed 'primary usergroup' for the test accounts as the tester usergroup.

Having done that i wanted to make sure it was working by viewing the page as 'guest'. I then got an error message;

Error Message

The current member was found to have no usergroup. This is a bug in the website software. (version: 8-RC7, PHP version: 5.2.17, URL: /portal/data/iframe.php?zone=&wide_high=1&utheme=dj1&page=members&type=misc)

Im pretty sure ive done something wrong during the aforementioned (biggest word of the day so far) process. Any ideas what ive done wrong? :)

That definitely appears to be a bug so we'll fix that. But I need to mention that making a usergroup invisible won't make the members invisible, it'll just obscure it's name and it's member list.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
