Fan in action

I just updated to version 9.0.20 tonight and now every single time I load a page, I get a popup telling me:

158: Uncaught ReferenceError: top_window is not defined
/portal/themes/fourth/templates_cached/EN/javascript_chat.js?1440311593

It tells me to check my browser's console, so I checked and it says on lines 158-162:
if((top_window.last_message_id==null)||(top_window.last_message_id<newest_id_here)) {top_window.last_message_id=newest_id_here;} if(top_window.last_timestamp<newest_timestamp_here)
top_window.last_timestamp=newest_timestamp_here;return current_room_id;}

I am using the Fourth Dimension theme, but I'm not using chat anywhere on the website. I even made sure to delete all the chatrooms.

I'm unsure how to fix this so any help would be appreciated!

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
