Im trying to get my netwrok banner set up. Can anyone help?

Im trying to figure out how to set up the network banners where other websites can share my banners using this code:

<iframe width="468" height="60" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="{$BASE_URL}/banner.php></iframe>

But the iframe code does not seem to be working. Can anyone point me ion the right direction to get this working? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, The LocalMC

Also, after looking at my banners.php, it looks like i may have another issue. In the php file i found this -:

global $MICRO_BOOTUP;
$MICRO_BOOTUP=1;
if (!is_file($FILE_BASE.'/sources/global.php')) exit('<!DOCTYPE html>'.chr(10).'<html lang="EN"><head><title>Critical startup error</title></head><body><h1>ocPortal startup error</h1><p>The second most basic ocPortal startup file, sources/global.php, could not be located. This is almost always due to an incomplete upload of the ocPortal system, so please check all files are uploaded correctly.</p><p>Once all ocPortal files are in place, ocPortal must actually be installed by running the installer. You must be seeing this message either because your system has become corrupt since installation, or because you have uploaded some but not all files from our manual installer package: the quick installer is easier, so you might consider using that instead.</p><p>ocProducts maintains full documentation for all procedures and tools, especially those for installation. These may be found on the <a href="ocPortal - where Content Management meets Web 2.0">ocPortal website</a>. If you are unable to easily solve this problem, we may be contacted from our website and can help resolve it for you.</p><hr /><p style="font-size: 0.8em">ocPortal is a website engine created by ocProducts.</p></body></html>'); require($FILE_BASE.'/sources/global.php');

require_code('banners');

banners_script();

Could that be my issue as to why the iframe banner code isnt working?

Manually substitute {$BASE_URL} for your site's real base URL. We will fix the help page to do that automatically.

How did you "put it into" a page? This is not ocPortal-specific in any way, it's just HTML code – so you would add it to whatever third party site using whatever mechanism that third party site has for embedded pure HTML code.

It funny, when i typed in the correct iframe code with my base URL www.localmc.com in this forum topic earlier, it works. lol, it replaced my base URL with src="Banner>, but when i click it here in this topic it links correctly. weird

You'll not going to be able to use it in a forum post here, the security filter will block it.

If you want it in a Comcode page, you'd need to disable the WYSIWYG editor and use the Comcode 'html' tag to embed it.

what im saying is, in the post i made at 3:23pm here in this discussion with you, the iframe code example i typed into that post seems to have replaced my base URL (www.localmc.com/banner.php) with the link 'Banner' and it works fine when i click it. lol. just an observation.

Yeah, I know ;). It's because the HTML won't show due to the filter (or if you pasted it as text not as code), but it had a URL within it, which would be parsed as a link.

as long as its working im good. as i understand it, if people add this iframe code to their own websites it will show on their pages like a banner right? is there anything else i need to set up to be sure this is working right other than the 'Ganeral' banner in my ocportal website (www.localmc.com)?

And thanks again for all your help Chris. I truly do appreciate it - The LocalMC
