On one of my sites, the admin created a Wiki page containing text and some download links using the tags to embed downloadable files from the media manager. When editing (or just saving without editing) the Wiki page, the meta data for the number of downloads is reset to 0.

I haven't taken a look at the database to see if the meta data there has actually been reset, or if the act of saving the page, the meta data isn't pulled in again from the db.

This issue has been filed on the tracker as issue #1039, with a fix.

 • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
 • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

I see you have the hotfix marked as 9.0.6. Can I assume this can be applied to my 9.0.5?

Can those extra rows be safely deleted so as to pick up the original meta data??

Whoops, I'd bumped the version before building the fix. It should say 9.0.5, and will be compatible.

I suspect it will magically work without you having to delete anything. As it will auto-match to the first attachment with that media file URL next time you do an edit.

Ok. Thanks, Chris.

I'll report back the meta data results either way for future reference for others.

[edit:] Magically worked just as Chris stated.
