Did you upgrade using the extraction in the upgrader?

You seem to have the banners addon partly reinstalled, presumably was uninstalled before. The upgrade extractor is supposed to skip files from uninstalled addons. Getting rid of sources/hooks/systems/addon_registry/banners.php should fix this.

I thought I got it working, but no thus.
Look at this by starting the upgrader:

Connection interrupted when downloading http://ocportal.com/uploads/website_specific/ocportal.com/scripts/fetch_release_details.php?news_id=323&from_version=9.0.2 (307 bytes expected, 2 bytes received).

After upgrading to 9.0.3 (the banners.php is then back) I got the crutical error again, after removing the banners.php the site is working, but not to 9.0.3

Ok a few things here…

1) I am wondering why banners.php keeps coming back, I'll look into that.

2) You don't need to run patches individually, just do one big jump. We don't advise jumping across major versions (e.g. 7 to 9), although even that often will work. For patches, it's definitely fine to jump across them.

3) This connection interrupted error is the same Sholzy got recently. It doesn't seem to affect everyone, and can be fixed via this replacement to sources/files2.php https://github.com/chrisgraham/ocPortal/blob/v9/sources/files2.php

Ok '1' is now solved. Your imports/addons/banners.tar file is missing so ocPortal thought banners was a new addon not an uninstalled one. This is probably because you have it in imports/mods, the old location for the files. I'd suggest moving imports/mods/*.tar to imports/addons/.

We'll make the next version of the upgrader smarter, and look harder to work out if an addon is new or uninstalled – it'll check the admin logs as well.

(I realise naming mods to addons is pedantic ;) we try and streamline our terminology over time, as the bigger ocPortal gets, the more clear and precise we need to be with these kinds of fundamentals)

A workaround is to go to the upgrader manually from the tools menu, then you can enter in the URL to extract from. That bypasses the autodetection which is what is failing here. You can get the URL from the generator in the upgrade news post.

Is it talkpoint.nl you're upgrading? I see I have access to this, from an earlier support / bug fix. Want me to finish the upgrade for you?

I am happy to, will give me a chance to find out what's happening here too.

It should be fine now. Sorry for all the problems with this, they've really piled up here after a quiet few months.
