We've just opened up community documentation on ocportal.com which is powered by CEDI. We hope this will allow users to help each other in a more central/structured way and serve as an additional resource alongside the regular ocPortal tutorials. For example, now you can:
  • add your own tutorials
  • add in details that we haven't covered

Even though we're really proud of our own documentation, it is of course something that is limited to how quickly we can update things inside our team. Now that the documentation is crowdsourced, it will be able to move forward as fast as users can create.

To get started, visit ocPortal CEDI.

If you see a useful tip posted on the forum (e.g. if someone answered a question that was really general, and would be useful for others to see long-term), please add it to CEDI too if it's not already covered by CEDI or a tutorial.

I think that this can prove very valuable as the ultimate repository of additional ocPortal documentation and tutorials.

I've just added my first contribution, but I guess it must first be vetted first before it appears. (good idea! ;) )

Well-settled

Chris,

Can you make available a CEDI Tree view for the community docs so that it's easier to browse?

Thanks

It is on the tracker to do so, but at the moment we have too many urgent things to work on. A major site update will come, at some uncertain point in the future.

Become a fan of ocPortal on Facebook or add me as a friend.

If I answered something that you think should be in the documentation, please take the initiative and add it to the community documentation. We really need people to help out here and build a well-organised large support resource.
