I go to edit my profile (as admin) and it just hangs there. Little red box in the middle just gradienting over and over and over and over and over and over and over, trying to do something.

Not sure if it's the server it's on or the software. :(

Hi,
A picture of this can help us to discover your problem. With version of ocPortal you have?

A screenshot isn't going to help.

To try and make it more clear:

Home > Members > admin's profile > Edit

It just hangs there and doesn't do anything. Acting as if it's lagged.

oke have you test this with different browsers, to me it looks at the moment something what could be a browser problem. But For the same its a server issue. Someone else can shine some light on here guys.

Well, you helped me solve part of it.

It hangs with Firefox, but loads find with Internet Explorer.

Now I just need to figure out why it hangs with Firefox. That is my main browser and would rather work in that.

Thank you for helping me figure that part out, Harry.

The member profile tabs are pulled up via AJAX. I have just tested on Firefox and it was fine, but perhaps some kind of Javascript error will show up in your Firefox error console. I would be happy to look at your site if you can post/whisper a link (I'd need a login to test with of course).

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
