Official call for ocPortal book writers and editors

This is the official call for writers and editors for the ocPortal book. As suggested by O, I think we could benefit from the "pass it around" editing technique which will work to homogenize the writing style. So I hope everyone who is willing to write is also willing to edit at least one chapter.

So far,the possible volunteers I am aware of for writing chapters are:
Duck
Jean (available in August)
Felipe
Hamburgler
SoccerDad
Harry-S (maybe)
O (Editing - Spelling/Punctuation/Grammar)
mythus (Wiki+)

If I have missed your name or you wish to volunteer to write or edit a chapter, please let me know in this thread. If there is a particular chapter (using the outline in the first post in View topic: Book structure/chapters - ocPortal.com) you would like to write, please let me know. I would really like to fill the slots for the first six chapters at the very least so that we could post that if people are in agreement about doing so.

I look forward to working with everyone and a special thank you for those who volunteer in the spirit of open-source.

Sorry but I must withdraw my offer to write a chapter or participate on this project. I hope you all are able to produce a good product and I will be wishing you much success.  

My time is pretty (very) tight, but I can probably proof read a bit.  It'll be more for Spelling/Punctuation/Grammar than technical accuracy, though, I'm afraid.

Thanks for offering, O. I have put you on the list for editing spelling, punctuation and grammar. Any help you (or anyone) can provide is appreciated.

That's a real shame.      I really hope that you manage to free up some time in the future - your knowledge and insight would be of great help.  But I appreciate that making the time can be difficult.

I may do. But I am realizing I am way over commited just now and have several other priorites I should be focusing on first. I am eager to see the progres of this project though and if I can knock out a few of my other commitments I might be able to contribute later.

Hopefully, you will be able to contribute to the project at some point when your schedule allows. I agree that losing your availability on this project is a genuine loss for the project.

Meant to share this earlier today - mythus has graciously agreed to write the chapter on Wiki+. I think we are very fortunate to have mythus on our team to cover this area as he is truly a master of using CEDI/Wiki+.

I bet it has already been discussed/told to me, but I forget and since I am rather short on time today, I think I'll just ask again:

When do you want a draft of Wiki+ info (besides what I gave you in PT that is lol)?

At this very moment, being a parent is clamouring and fighting for any free time I thought I had gained…. School is starting up here in a week so getting the kids ready has taken priority to all things. So hopefully you are not wanting it within a couple of weeks or whatever lol.

Mythus, its on Bob to say this, but I have't seen him for a week now. Think he could not restistence the young sisters in the hospital.

I hope it going well and hear from him soon.
