@Chris

Can I have the PSD of the Code Book logo that was used by Allen for the PDF itself?

I ask, because there is no point in reinventing the wheel as far as ocPortal graphics are concerned. Allen (if Allen built it, that is!) did a magnificent job - clean and to the point - and I would like a tilt at changing that to read 'ocPortal' so that there is an element of uniformity in all the ocPortal 'written' displays.

If I can 'do a job' on the original I shall offer it to Bob and the other participants to consider adopting it as the banner header for the stuff that goes into the 'Book'.

Thanks.

 :)

Take my advice. I'm not using it!

I'm afraid we don't have one. I have all Allen's files, so I guess it got lost in the sands of time.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Darn!

I'll start from scratch and see if I can get close to replicating it.

Thanks for looking …

I wonder if the logo is done yet? Is it necessary for the logo to reflect the legacy? I mean the main book title could be something new and we can always include the offical logo somewhere on the cover.

From me, the short answer is, NO!

The release of version 9 sort of pushed everything else on to the back burner.

If you have an interest in it, please give it a whirl.

Thanks for the heads up Fletch. I certainly do have an interest. I will see what I can come up with.
