Moving forward with Composr

Another one that has annoyed me for some time. Why does the RSS/Atom page (/backend.php) not have the admin header at the top?

Because it's not HTML ;).

It has an XSLT stylesheet applied to give it some HTML rendering, but it's not viable to encode a full ocPortal layout into that, or give it a sense for context.

  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.

Gotcha. Now I hopefully can be impressed by the XSLT instead of annoyed at the difference. I hardly ever hit that page anyway but it always annoyed me for some reason.

The RSS index uses OPML, which almost expands to opulent, except it doesn't.
