I don't know how it works but. You install it. Them you go into a chat room with less than two people and you talk and he joins in? People I have installed it and I don't see him etc. |

 He can be quite funny at times with unexpected comments! The trick is to always use some of the words he says in a reply or question and you get him to tell his secrets!  However, there is a glitch at the beginning, but it does not prevent the addon from working: At first try, typing a question then pressing enter will result in this error message: I have tested this with a clean 7.1.1 install and with a recently upgraded site to 7.1.1 with same result from "General chat" room with no other member present. Clicking OK and pressing "Send message" will continue the conversation without any other glitch. One other observation: I don't know it this intended or not, but this general chat room conversation viewed from the main page side panel shows Octavious' name as "Guest".

Sorry Voarsh, I was not actually answering your post, but adding a comment about an anomaly. I have done exactly what you described and tested my result as per attached image and aside from the initial error message, everything is working fine with Octavius. |

Did you verify this: (However, even if the these are disabled for the groups, if the chat module has more than the View privilege, access to Octavius is working fine in the "General" chat room. Also check the permission tree editor for these privileges) |

Too often I get the response "My brain contains more than 22,000 patterns, but not one that matches your last input." or "A deeper algorithm is needed to respond to that correctly" Sometimes I think E chat robot may be capable of learning things and I asked "Do you learn when we talk?" to which he replied "Yes I try to learn when we talk when we talk as often as possible, do you? I spend all my time online." But the most annoying habit ocTavius has is to be redundant. Here is a little of my discussion with E chat about repetition: By friendly (11:51 AM) Can you say maybe? By Guest How old are you? "maybe maybe maybe" By friendly I am older than you. By Guest Why are you older than you. By friendly You is me. By Guest That's good information: Dave said I is me me. By friendly Why do you repeat some things twice? Example "me me" By Guest It was the only thing I could think of. That remark was either too complex or too simple for me. We were talking about Example "me me" "me me". By friendly see there you go again. you are saying the same thing two times. By Guest Not many people express themselves that way.Do you mind if I tell other people you say I am saying the same thing two times the same thing two times. By friendly Yes it is OK but only say it once. By Guest Quite honestly, I wouldn't worry myself about that. Please note that Guest here is octavius. When chatting E chat shows up as octavius but the transcript log notes E chat as Guest.
I am really intrigued with this addon and would be interested to know if the 22,000 patterns can be enhanced and expanded and if E chat can be taught to only say things it once?

Program E or ALICE? Yes on the computer I noticed it does have an unusual issue that might produce something like that - I had not thought of that being the cause.
