I run http://otakuplayground.com and am hopping to make themes and other things for ocportal even though I no longer use it for otakuplayground.com I still love it and feel it could go far with the right help. It needs themes and needs people to advertise for it.

ocPortal probably asked you to give write access to your main directory where ocPortal is installed. Please remove that access and you'll probably find it starts working again straight away.
Some servers seem to fail when too much access is given.

I'm sorry this has happened - I'll make sure ocPortal gives better instructions when installing addons that mention that this could happen to some users.

Well I removed all files from the folder that ocportal was in and I still get that error.
I made a back up first.
So I am still confused on what I need to do.

Please re-read my reply. This is caused by the file permissions on the folder ocPortal is installed in, that you changed when you installed the addon.

So I CHmod the folder for that domain?

Sorry you confused me with your reply I did not see what the ocworld had done I just hit install so if it changed some thing i did not know what it did.

So when you said change the access i was confused.
I was thinking I did not add access to any thing.
Took me some thinking but I saw you meant chmodding it after a while.

You certainly do not need to apologise to us. From your name I'm guessing English isn't your first language, and then there's all the tech words too.

I had assumed you received this message when ocWorld was installing:
This addon unpacks to directories on your server which do not currently have write access. Before this addon will install you will need to CHMOD these directories to 777 permissions (full permissions), and after installation restore the permissions. These directories must be chmodded: <root>
and that you'd changed the permissions.

If you didn't change any permissions then this is a very strange problem. I'll look into this.

Ya I did not see that message but I did see a whole string of stuff that said saff behind it and at the botton it said add so I clicked add.
SO ya I did not chmod any thing or see that it had told me to.
Basically I just uploaded the tar file and in the admin zone I clicked installed scrolled to the bottom of that huge list of stuff that said safe at the end and clicked add and when I refreshed I got that error.
So today to fix the problem I chmodded it to 777 which fixed it.

My name My be Ami but I am American.
