Log in to ocPortal using your Facebook accountIt provides 5 new blocks for integrating with Facebook, and allows people to login using their Facebook account. Download: Facebook support - ocPortal If I answered something that you think should be in the documentation, please take the initiative and add it to the community documentation. We really need people to help out here and build a well-organised large support resource. |

What specific problems were you having with the Facebook add-on. I am nearing launch of my site and would like to allow people to log in with their Facebook credentials. Bob |

I'm going to give it a go. Are you saying that I need to make sure to download the new version from ocPortal or is that version included in 7.1.3? Bob |

I've got the Facebook login button and Friends box displaying and communication with facebook going on, but it's not working correctly - yet. Brain is a bit fried now - so I'll give it another shot with a fresh mind tomorrow. Nick |

Also, if you are logged into Facebook, does it log you out of your Facebook session when you use your Facebook credentials to sign in? Bob |

If I'm logged into facebook, my test site continuously reloads or something. How did you fix this ? Did I miss a forum post on this issue ? Nick |

It's discussed in this thread: http://ocportal.com/forum/topicview/misc/deploying/issue-facebook.htm?start=40#post_73237 I reluctantly gave up on using the Facebook add-on because I an unwilling to risk the ire of my sites visitors. I am. instead, focusing on making sure my contents syndicated to Facebook and Twitter using RSS Graffiti and Twitterfeed, respectively. Bob |

Thanks for your advice - I read the thread. This problem is above my level - but for what its worth - it seems to be intermittent on my site. Yesterday my test site would not even load if I was logged into facebook. But, this morning I logged into facebook, then clicked on a link to my site - and everything seemed fine and worked. So …. I don't know …… I DON"T want to worry if my site is working for visitors or not, true. Thanks, Nick |

Is this problem when you use one browser logging into both your site and FaceBook or will it happen also when you use two browsers, one each to log into each site?

As I recall, it only happens when you use a single browser but I think most people use a single browser and many keep their Facebook page open (I know a lot of my family and friends are like this). I'd test the different browser to confirm but I have removed the Facebook add-on. I hate giving up the Facebook authentication but I am very happy with the way RSS Graffiti is dribbling out my content to Facebook. Bob |
