Issue with old software

So I have one of my sites I haven't updated to the latest..still back on OC8...had facebook connect, but the button disappeared so I can't even log into the admin account.

An unknown authentication scheme was found in the database against your member. Unfortunately we cannot authenticate you. If your account is tied to a third party service maybe you just need to use a different login button.

How can I fix this?

Was able to get into the upgrader, upgrading to 9.0.3 now to see if I can fix it.

The question would be, what did you do before it disappeared, if anything.

Did you do the recent v8 upgrade?

Did you do the recent facebook addon upgrade?

The integrity check may have showed facebook addon files as alien and asked if you wanted to keep them or not, so you may have removed them not realising what they were from.

Was I helpful?
  • If not, please let us know how we can do better (please try and propose any bigger ideas in such a way that they are fundable and scalable).
  • If so, please let others know about ocPortal whenever you see the opportunity.
  • If my reply is too Vulcan or expressed too much in business-strategy terms, and not particularly personal, I apologise. As a company & project maintainer, time is very limited to me, so usually when I write a reply I try and make it generic advice to all readers. I'm also naturally a joined-up thinker, so I always express my thoughts in combined business and technical terms. I recognise not everyone likes that, don't let my Vulcan-thinking stop you enjoying ocPortal on fun personal projects.
  • If my response can inspire a community tutorial, that's a great way of giving back to the project as a user.
