Just want to start by saying, what an amaazing script!

I tried ocPortal a few years ago, but wow how far you have come. I have tried so many scripts, this one is definitely the most well rounded software on the market, for free :). I love it love it love it.

Now, I have just a few minor issues. One of them is the downloads carousel. Im not sure if I am just not using it right or something, but I get a bail out error when trying to use the block on any page. It says lang file is missing when I click the block in the add block list, its the settings page for the block that throws the error.

Code

A language entry is missing: BLOCK_main_downloads_carousel_DESCRIPTION (version: 9.0.8, PHP version: 5.3.24, URL: /xxxxxxxx/data/block_helper.php?type=step2&block=main_downloads_carousel&field_name=edit_start_textarea&utheme=default&block_type=main)

Then of course a few other lines of errors. If you want them I can post them too.

But, my site revolves around a download system and I want to show random downloads or most popular, but just their images (I already have the top downloads being used). Using a gallery fader, it specifically says it won't work for download images :(. How come? The image fader is really nice. But I noticed the download carousel on this site and thats nice too, the hover effect to the download and such.

Thats about the only major problem I am having right now. Everything else has been pretty smooth sailing

Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for your kind words.
I will look into this block. Not many people use it, and it will have been auto-upgraded from v8 (alongside our wider codebase), so possibly not re-tested.

Generally v9.0.8 is giving a few of these language errors in corners of the software, as we just fixed a bug that was actually suppressing them.

Using a gallery fader, it specifically says it won't work for download images

Isn't that main_gallery_tease? It would have been a choice to try and limit things to stuff intentionally designed for gallery display, rather than stuff leeching onto the gallery system.

But main_image_fader is probably what you want, and I don't believe that has any such limitation.

main_gallery_tease is to be dropped in v10. We are moving to a smaller set of more configurable blocks.

Okay that should be fixed now. I think you found this block in the Development section of the addons. A few things in there are more or less code dumps, as the packager stuff uses this as a default destination for things that haven't been documented/reviewed properly (because they may still be useful to developers). Never-the-less, they should not be full of bugs ;).

Wow, thank you, that was quick :)

You got it almost all the way, it now shows no problem, it has no errors. But when clicking on any of the images that should link to a download they all bring me to this link: /index.php?page=start&type=entry&id=x where id=x, x changes for each download image, which does not work.

This addon is about really the only thing I need (this 'is' what I was looking for, more than the gallery_teaser). Everything else is 'out-of-box', already there and works fantastic :)

So I apologize for trying to get this one updated. I saw it work proper on here I figured it couldn't be too hard to update.

Thanks!
