Separate audio uploader for Galleries

It is cool that you can upload audio files in place of video files in the galleries, but it would be neat to have a separate uploader for the audio files. I no absolutely nothing about php, or I'd make this addon my self.  That way instead of having to have a thumbnail to represent the upload you could add a short demo clip of the audio file. Also people would know there are audio files in that gallery because the status line of the gallery would read:
(0 images, 0 videos, 6 audio files)
